THE GAS INSERT

HOW TO INSTALL the GAS INSERT:034 copy

1. Shut off power to the appliance and close the gas shutoff at the main manual shutoff valve.
2. Take furnace door off.
3. Open the gas fitting union.
4. Disconnect the gas fittings going 10 the furnace gas valve.
5. Take a screwdriver and put it in the insert's screwdriver slot.
CAUTION: Do not use a wrench on any surface other than the casting flats provided al the inlet and outlet ends of the valve body. The gas insert may be damaged in the
insertion process if a wrench is used on any other surface. Using a wrench incorrectly may void !he warranty of the gas valve.
6. Take the gas insert and insert it in the gas valve. (*You can also install the insert in the outlet of the gas shutoff valve going to the furnace/water tank/dryer).
Caution: Do not put even a small amount of pipe dope or Teflon tape on the threads of the insert or on the inserts holes.
7. Screw in the insert all the way in the appliance's gas valve. It has to go deep enough fix you to reconnect the existing gas fillings.
8. Reconnect the existing gas fittings using pipe dope or Teflon tape on the male threads before assembly.
CAUTION: The threads of the pipe and nipples must be smooth and free of tears and burrs. The gas insert must be installed in accordance with the NationaI Fuel Code (ANSI 2223.1).
9. Open the gas shutoff valve.
10. Check for gas leaks around the fittings:
*Paint all valve body connections with a rich soap and water solution or leak detector. If bubbles occur, this is an indication of a leak.Small Insert* To stop a leak, tighten joints and connections. Replace the part if the leak cannot be stopped.

CAUTION: Verify that there are no gas leaks by lasting with appropriate equipment. Never use a match or lighter to test for the presence of gas. Failure to test properly can lead to an explosion or fire and may result in severe personal injury or death.
11. Relight the gas pilot (you may skip this step if  you have automatic pilot ignition).
CAUTION: Perform a complete checkout as per manufacturer's specifications before leaving the installation.
CAUTION: Verify that the gas valve and appliance is functioning properly and that the system is performing as per manufacturer's specifications and specified sequence of operation before leaving the installation.
A. For the furnace follow steps 1 through 10.
B. For the water tank follow steps 1 through 10 (skip step 2).
C. How to install the gas insert in the dryer.
1. Shut off power to the appliance and dose the gas shutoff at the main manual shutoff valve.
2. Open the gas fitting union.
3. Disconnect the gas fittings going to the outlet of the gas shutoff valve.
4. Take a screwdriver and put it in the insert's screwdriver slot.
5. Take the gas insert and insert it in the outlet of the gas shutoff valve.
6. Screw in the insert all the way in the gas shutoff valve. It has to go deep enough for you to reconnect the existing gas fittngs.
7. Reconnect the existing gas fittings using pipe dope or Teflon tape on the male threads before assembly.
8. Open the gas shutoff valve and check for gas leaks around the fittings.
9. Turn the power on.
NOTE: -Same CAUTIONS and WARNINGS that apply for the furnace and water tank installations also apply to the installation of the gas insert in the dryer.
THE GAS INSERT IS TESTED FOR APPROVAL UP TO 9 PSI ONLY.
